Prudential Financial Inc. (PFI), a US-based financial services company, has opened its first Innovation Centre in India at Cyber City, Gurugram. The centre was inaugurated on September 22 by Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh under the state’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy.
Building on PFI’s India Presence
The new centre adds to PFI’s existing businesses in India. Pramerica Life Insurance Limited, which operates under the Prudential Financial group, is headquartered in Gurugram. PFI’s investment management business, PGIM, also operates in India through PGIM India Mutual Fund.
The establishment of PFI Innovation Centre India therefore adds a new corporate innovation centre to the company’s existing insurance and investment management operations in the country.
First Innovation Centre in India
According to the Govt. of Haryana, PFI is a nearly 150-year-old Fortune 200 company, and the Gurugram centre is its first Innovation Centre in India. The inauguration was attended by PFI executives including Scott E. Case, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Technology & Operations, Vicki Walia, Chief People and Experience Officer, and Praveen Goyal, Vice President and India Country Head, PFI Innovation Centre India.
Rao Narbir Singh said the centre is expected to contribute to innovation and high-skilled work across finance, artificial intelligence, technology and other emerging areas.
Gurugram’s Growing GCC Base
The centre has been established under Haryana’s GCC Policy, placing PFI’s new India operation within the state’s broader effort to attract global companies and expand high-skilled technology and business operations.
For PFI, the Gurugram opening marks the company’s first Innovation Centre in India, building on its existing presence through businesses such as Pramerica Life Insurance and PGIM India.
