American e-commerce giant eBay has announced the launch of its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, selecting Bengaluru over Hyderabad for its rich talent pool and diversity. The 65,000-sq-ft facility will host technology and engineering, AI/ML, applied research, product development, product management, and data analytics functions. The centre is expected to employ 300+ engineers, serving as a strategic innovation hub on par with eBay’s centres in the U.S. and China.
