India Adds 2–3 New GCCs Every Week in 2025: A Pulse on the Momentum

GCC Pulse Research – Half-Yearly Snapshot of India’s GCC Growth Story

India’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem continues to expand at a rapid pace, with 2–3 new GCCs being added every single week. This momentum, tracked consistently by GCC Pulse, paints a compelling picture of India’s rising role as the world’s preferred hub for innovation, digital transformation, and enterprise operations.

In total, 3–5 major strategic announcements emerge every week—comprising not just new entrants, but also significant expansions, rebranding, and capability upgrades of existing centers.

1–2 existing centers undergo significant upgrades, either by scaling headcount, expanding digital capabilities, or moving to larger office spaces in emerging tech corridors like Pune, Hyderabad, NCR, and Bengaluru.

Interestingly, this surge isn’t limited to large multinationals. A growing portion of the new setups include mid-market and fast-scaling enterprises, often in the $1–10 billion revenue bracket, who are entering India for the first time to tap into its high-skill digital workforce. There’s also an uptick in smaller, niche global firms — who are establishing compact but high-impact centers to drive product engineering, global delivery, and innovation charters.

These GCCs are diverse—not just in their size, but in ambition and design. From global insurtech firms hiring their first data science teams to European medical device companies setting up innovation labs, this wave reflects a deepening commitment to India’s talent, infrastructure, and business resilience. Whether it’s a 100-seater AI pod or a 1,500-strong digital operations center, each announcement signifies India’s widening appeal.

On the expansion front, existing GCCs are actively investing in headcount, next-gen workspaces, AI and GenAI labs, and cross-functional leadership roles. We also note a shift in mindset—many GCCs are evolving from “support” hubs to strategic transformation engines, aligned with the enterprise-wide shift toward resilience, digitization, and ESG.

So, what does this mean for the ecosystem?

India is no longer just a back-office destination. It is a co-creation partner for global CXOs looking to build scalable, future-ready operating models. The growing volume of weekly activity is proof that India’s GCC opportunity is both deep and dynamic—and accelerating.

GCC Pulse will continue tracking these trends—providing weekly insights, location patterns, and sector movements to help leaders stay informed and ahead of the curve.
